Product Description:
The Lapmaster Wolters Model 15 is a bench-mounted unit with a rigid, lightweight, cast
aluminum base. The machine is of the "ring lapper" configuration, enabling high standards
of flatness and surface finish to be routinely achieved.
The Model 15 is derived from the popular Model 12 and features a scaled-up lapping plate,
conditioning rings and convenient "wrap-around" worktable.
15inch, 18inch, 24 inch and 36 inch lapping and polishing machines, easily-operated repair machine for mechanical seals and thrust bearings and all kinds of steel parts. It is suitable for mechanical seal and other parts service shops and distributors.

The process of polishing segments of thrust bearings:
this is a 2 stage process:
1st stage - Lapping with abrasive slurry to get flatness and base surface finish
1st stage - Lapping with abrasive slurry to get flatness and base surface finish
2nd stage - To achieve bright surface finish with diamond paste - dry method , the polishing cloth is necessary for 2nd stage
For lapping and polishing - special fixturing is to be done to hold the parts properly during lapping and polishing
In order to figure out the best fixture, need to know output per month, accordingly the machine size will be decided and based on the ring id, the fixture will be designed.
